The Johnson-Shaw Foundation
Nonprofit Overview
The Johnson-Shaw Foundation's main initiative will be serving the men, women and children that are affected by incarceration and any barriers during their reentry to the community. We will be focusing on transportation, safe and supportive housing, and employment and trades programs throughout Washington and Greene Counties and the Mon Valley area. We will help and guide reentrants and will offer resources and referrals to help tackle barriers and prevent recidivism.
Current Needs
The JSF has a main initiative at this time to become a certified a pre-apprenticeship program for reentrants in Washington County. This program will be designed to prepare individuals for entry into trades apprenticeships with the local unions. We are in need of funding to expand our initiative to offer our clients a space to accommodate this endeavor.
