South Hills Pet Rescue and Rehabilitation Resort
Nonprofit Overview
Since 2013, South Hills Pet Rescue (SHPR) is one of only a few no-kill and on-site adoption facilities in Washington County servicing the Southwestern PA area. Our mission is to rehabilitate and rehome dogs of all breeds with all needs saving them from euthanasia, illness, starvation and abandonment. At any given time, we are caring for 60-100 adoptable dogs, puppies and several non-adoptable dogs accepted through animal control, surrenders, abandonments and more. SHPR is more than a rescue service. It is a community of devoted dog-lovers committed to supporting the critical, life-saving work of the SHPR team. We provide these homeless dogs with shelter, food, medical care, obedience training and, most of all, companionship and love, while they wait for their forever homes. Since opening our door, over 5,000 dogs (and counting) have been rescued and have found their furever homes. In addition, SHPR offers on site services for boarding, grooming, and training for clients across Southwestern, PA and beyond. SHPR is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, therefore donations are always needed and deeply appreciated.

Current Needs
We are currently finishing our “puppy” barn so litters can be isolated and cared for until they are ready for adoption. We are also updating our isolation area so we can accept more incoming rescues. We have some major projects that need addressed and would be eternally grateful for any donations, large or small. Our road needs to be graded and paved. We need a new or gently used large SUV for rescue transports. We are in dire need of two commercial washers and dryers (60+ doggies create a lot of laundry).
Your donation may just save the life of a vulnerable dog or puppy. Join our community today by supporting South Hills Pet Rescue!
