Metro Pittsburgh Youth For Christ

Nonprofit Overview

Youth For Christ reaches young people in the local areas, by working with the local churches and other likeminded partners to raise up lifelong followers of Jesus who lead by their godliness in lifestyle, devotion to the word of God and prayer, passion for sharing the love of Christ, and commitment to social involvement. We strive to positively impact their communities, schools, and homes by helping them make good choices and establishing a solid foundation for their life. We also want to help teens through our Juvenile Justice Ministry, who are facing pivotal life challenges while in detention centers, correctional facilities, and residential treatment centers. We want to invest in trusted friendships and help them uncover God's story of hope in their lives.

Current Needs

Our Washington area ministry site has students that are homeless and we weekly find ourselves putting resources together to help them out, such as food, clothes, and hygiene products. We are also in need of funds to help with the upkeep of our van. Because many of these teens are homeless, they do not have a way to get to our weekly meetings, so we try to accommodate that need by providing transportation. Updating the old kitchen appliances at our Washington building, in particular adding 2 small stoves or 1 large commercial stove, would help provide food and meals on a regular basis for the teens that come to our meetings.
