Boy Scouts of America, Laurel Highlands Council
Nonprofit Overview
The Boy Scouts of America, Laurel Highlands Council, serves over 8,000 youth members and 4,000 volunteer adult leaders throughout its multi-state footprint in Western Pennsylvania, Western Maryland, and parts of West Virginia.
Since 1910, Scouting has helped mold future leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. The BSA believes and, through nearly a century of experience, understands that helping youth puts us on a path toward a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society.
It's our mission to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
The LHC aims to beneficially involve every eligible child and their family in the fun and adventure of our programs. We provide extraordinary youth development programs that: strengthen values, develop leadership skills, provide lifelong learning and instill the habit of service to others.
Current Needs
The Boy Scouts of America, Laurel Highlands Council currently faces a critical need for increased community engagement and support to ensure the sustained growth and development of youth in our region. By strengthening ties with our local communities, we can enhance resources, mentorship opportunities, and overall support. Community support is vital in fostering a positive and enriching environment for all Scouts.
