Arc Human Services

Arc Human Services (AHS) is a nonprofit provider of employment and training, as well as housing and support services, to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD) and mental health challenges in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Our mission is to serve people of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities and mental illness in a manner that allows them to fulfill their ambitions, protects their rights, and fosters meaningful relationships at home, at work, and in their communities.

Our organization strongly believes in listening to those we serve, a culture of honesty and transparency, and pursuing community partnerships. As a community staple for Washington County and the surrounding communities, AHS has remained a constant support serving those with ID/DD for seventy years. Via our diverse array of programs and services, individuals are able to be more independent and can increase their level of social, emotional, educational, and vocational functioning.

As we continue to work towards maximizing visibility for individuals living with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, equitable access to avenues for self-sufficiency and healthcare remain a top priority for our organization. In today’s modern world, technology is a key advancement for accessibility – creating new opportunities for telehealth, communication, and daily life needs.

As such, Arc Human Services is proud to announce that we have recently embarked on creating an Equitable Technology initiative. Support is allocated towards purchasing tech-centric equipment that will increase self-sufficiency and healthcare for those we serve. Key technological advancements are necessary to assist in barrier mitigations for our unique served population, such as transportation and right to healthcare privacy. Vital devices include medication dispensers, virtual healthcare services, and other methods of telehealth for our individuals.
