25FortyPgh
Nonprofit Overview
We strive to live out Jesus' teaching in Matthew 25:31-46 in real life ways. Since our first “mini” food pantry in October 2021, we gave nearly 10,000 pounds of food to Washington and Allegheny County residents. In June 2022, we held our first annual summer outreach in Midway, Pennsylvania. A free community funday filled with food, games, a petting zoo, community resources and much more. Please visit our Facebook page or our website to learn more about how God is using us.
Current Needs
Our greatest need is funding for our “mini” food pantry program. Our “mini" food pantries are our main ministry; we currently have three ‘mini” pantries throughout the Greater Pittsburgh Area. Our goal is to open 25 "mini" food pantries across the two counties. The cost to build one "mini" food pantry is between $150 - $200 dollars. The cost to maintain them is between $50 - $75 dollars a year, that includes paint, mulch for around the post, repairs to them from damage that was caused by vandalism or the weather. The other program expenses, ranging from $100 to $150, include replenishment of food to and travel expenses to and from pantries. This is by far our biggest need.
